👨👩👧👦 Family & Values
I am focused on being present for my family as my three kids transition into adulthood: Avery (22), Gabe (20), and Owen (19). Every moment feels like a chance to reinforce our family mission:
“We have a debt to those before us and an obligation to those after us. We maximize life and potential through heart, intelligence, and grit.”
Courtney and I continue to do this together because we are always stronger together. Mostest.
💻 Work & Creation
I am actively advising companies and building strategic roadmaps through Mostest Advisory where I help companies embrace technology building & helping leaders stabilize and scale their businesses.
A new and exciting focus is ████ ███, where I am working solving a problem I experience almost every time we go to dinner. We are building a system that uncovers deeply personal preferences using patterns that most people do not consciously recognize. It translates ambient signals and hidden structure into confident choices—without the need for traditional trial-and-error.
Last year, I launched http://www.ms.med to educate MS warriors about different disease-modifying therapies (DMTs). MS warriors can review and share their experiences with each.
I still code, mostly in Python with Django and Django-ninja. The builder in me is alive and well.
🏋️♂️ Strength & Health
I am not preparing for ultramarathons right now due to a torn right hip labrum. While that has temporarily sidelined me from endurance training, I have shifted focus and intensity toward weightlifting. I have gained over 12 pounds of lean mass in the past year, and feel stronger than I ever did running Leadville, ShowMe 100, or any 100-miler.
My multiple sclerosis remains stable. I continue to track symptoms, adjust as needed, and advocate for the MS community through board work and strategic involvement.
🧠 Mindset & Practice
I practice Stoicism daily through journaling, reflection, and course correction. I read widely, write regularly (mostly at porterhome.com/matthew), and aim to align my actions with my values. I am likely to launch videos (TikTok & Reels) this year.
I reject the idea that life is a zero-sum game. I am building a Not Net Sum Zero life, a life of possibility, love, expansion, and contribution.
